The Story of Eminence Organic Skin Care

Since 1958, Eminence Organic Skin Care’s mission has been to enhance wellness naturally through extraordinary products and extraordinary service. This mission has taken them from Hungary to their central office in Vancouver, Canada and beyond. Read on to learn about the Eminence Organics journey.

It was an unlikely experience that led Hungarian-born brothers Boldijarre and Attila Koronczay to the creation of Eminence Organic Skin Care. Boldijarre was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of leukemia at the age of four and was given a 0.1% chance of survival. While he was undergoing treatment, he was fed organic and Biodynamic® foods by his mother and grandmother, which the family believes was instrumental to his ability to beat cancer, never relapsing to this day.

Years after his recovery, Boldijarre followed in his family’s footsteps and became a trained esthetician with a passion for natural and organic ingredients. In 1996, he and Attila set their sights on Vancouver, Canada, determined to bring organic skin care worldwide.

Upon arrival in Vancouver, the Koronczay brothers worked minimum wage jobs and renovated apartments in exchange for rent. Boldijarre worked at a local spa and started small with Eminence Organics, sharing skin care products with his private clients. He quickly developed a lengthy waitlist after word of his organic facials and Hungarian-style massage techniques spread.

With his background in engineering and logistics, Attila stepped in to oversee business operations for Eminence Organics, bringing the products from Hungary to North America.

Today, Boldijarre is an icon and innovator in the spa industry. An acclaimed celebrity facialist, his talent has attracted A-list clientele including Jessica Biel, Channing Tatum, Katherine Heigl and Academy Award-winner, Marcia Gay Harden. He is also an educator and Master Esthetician, having personally trained over a quarter of a million estheticians and spa professionals over the last two decades.

Attila continues to direct the day-to-day operations of the business, overseeing farm production, product development and manufacturing in Hungary.

While the Eminence Organics central office is located in Vancouver, Canada, the company keeps close ties to their Hungarian roots. Products are formulated in Hungary, where the majority are also manufactured, then sent to Canada for hand pouring. Although a variety of their natural, organic and Biodynamic® ingredients are globally sourced, the majority are still grown in Hungary.

Eminence Organic Skin Care supports a number of charitable causes in addition to leading and maintaining their own charitable initiatives and 501(c)3. They are also a Certified B Corporation®, which is the largest, non-profit, third-party certification for responsible businesses.

Their Forests for the Future program helps train farmers in developing countries on how to build productive and sustainable Forest Gardens. The company plants a tree for every product sold, enabling the development of these Forest Gardens in rural communities, which empowers local people to restore their environment, grow their own food and build a sustainable income and future.

Boldijarre’s belief in nourishing the body inside and out led the company to starting the Eminence Kids Foundation in 2013. The Eminence Kids Foundation provides organic foods and juices to seriously ill children receiving care in hospitals and long-term care facilities worldwide to naturally aid in their recovery.
